Human Design

Human Design may not be for everybody, but everybody has a Human Design.

What is Human Design?

“The Human Design System is not a belief system. It does not require that you believe in anything. It is neither stories nor philosophy. It is a concrete map to the nature of being, a mapping of your genetic code. This ability to be able to detail the mechanics of our nature in such depth is obviously profound because it reveals our complete nature in all its subtleties. Human Design opens the door to the potential of self-love, a love of life, and the love of others through understanding.”

— Ra Uru Hu

I’m not for everyone.

Neither are you.

In 1999, I found out about Human Design (HD) in Sedona, AZ. Encouraged by my friend, Randy Richmond, we attended profile classes led by Ra Uru Hu. Despite the complexities, I was eager to learn I was a 5/1 Emotional Generator.

I reluctantly, skeptically, experimented with the principle of 'waiting to respond' taught in HD for Generators, and testing to see its validity in my own life. I never lost touch with HD, continuing to learn even after moving away from Sedona.

In addition to Randy Richmond, teachers such Genoa Bliven, Theresa Blanding, and Laveena Archers added to my understanding. Now, as a Living Your Design Guide, I share my HD experiences and knowledge while continuing my HD education with the goal of becoming a HD Analyst.

OVERVIEW SESSION

I look at your bodygraph and we go over key information to become familiar with your unique design.

I’m a pure 5/1 Emotional Generator, so I will need your bodygraph ahead of time in order to prepare for your overview. The session will take about an hour and there will be an opportunity for you to ask questions.

Understand that this is a process, not an event, and to have fun with it.  I will!

Benefits of an overview session:

  • 1-on-1 time reviewing your bodygraph

  • Learning to make decisions as yourself (For example, leaving for college, job/career considerations, classes to take, personal growth)

  • Ask specific questions about your design

  • Session will be recorded for future reference

Curriculum:

  • IHDS approved curriculum

  • 7 weeks zoom, 2 weeks wrap up

  • Required: Living Your Design textbook

  • Recommended:  The Definitive Book of Human Design, by Ra Uru Hu and Lynda Bunnell, and a Human Design overview is recommended, but not required.

To schedule an overview or to learn more about the next class, complete the inquiry form.

  • Jim is well-versed in Human Design, and he walked me through my design in a methodical and efficient manner. His explanations were straightforward and concise, and he left room for contemplation and questions. He makes the bottom line very clear, and you will walk away knowing your best strategy for how to navigate life. The entire process was enjoyable and enlightening!

I’m for you, if

  • 5/1: If you’ve got a 5, or a 1 in your profile, we most likely will connect there.

  • Emotional Authority?  I can speak to that also.  Not required of course, but it’s an important distinction.

  • Generator: I’m best with Generators or Manifesting Generators.  I can do overviews for Projectors, Manifestors, and Reflectors but am most comfortable with Generators at this point.

  • Lived experience:  I’ve been clean and sober since 1993 after years of drug and alcohol abuse.  I met Human Design in 1999.  I’ve been in my experiment since then and it’s been interesting, to be sure, and I share from my life experiences to help you find out more about yourself and your design.

  • Connection and resonates:  No reason, you just think we’d work well together.  Okay!  We can give it a go.  There’s probably a reason!

I’m not for you, if

  • Looking for variables, PHS, BG5, Color, Tone, and Base.  If you haven’t done your 7 years as your type, the above is really not needed for you to know right now, but if you want more, a Certified Human Design Analyst is what you want, and I can recommend several you could consider. There are those who are NOT certified who’ve read a few books and think they know what they’re talking about.  I respectfully doubt their credibility in this knowledge.  They may have gifts in other areas, be helpful, and mean well, but I’ve seen a LOT of people who say they do HD and they can’t tell the difference between the types, centers, gates, or profiles.

  • Full reading: I’m not an analyst yet!

  • You’re into drugs/alcohol:  Hey, I’m not a prude or an abolitionist, but if part of your trip is using a lot of alcohol, weed, drugs of any kind, hayuasca, any of that, then I’m not for you.  My personal opinion and experience is that if you need that to ‘get you through’ then Human Design isn’t going to do that much for you until you address the addiction.  Just my 2 cents, and I could be wrong, but for me, that’s been my experience.
